Film
Department

The courses taught at the Dutch Academy for Film and Photography (Film Department) are entirely devoted to audiovisual storytelling and new media, both of which are creative and versatile fields where techniques are constantly changing.

Blending
creativity
and tech

Film is all around us. In a world with countless videos on social media, virtual reality, films made with drones and films made with simple cameras, moving images have definitely taken on a new role. As a result, the call for well-rounded filmmakers is greater now than ever before. This is one of the primary focuses of the DAFP. News editors require authentic film images to tell their stories, websites often have audiovisual content to hold the attention of visitors, and performers are increasingly interested in using artistic clips to express themselves. At DAFP, you will learn to communicate through film, offer a complete audiovisual experience, but most of all, you will learn to stimulate the senses of the audience with your films.

Our programs keep you constantly up-to-date with cutting-edge trends. Our course durations differ; students have the option of training to be professional and holistic filmmakers or take a short course to improve their skills.
